Born from one man’s vision, perfected into Lapland’s ultimate igloo experience
Levin Iglut – Golden Crown was born from the dream of Tauno Mäkelä, who once stood on the slope of Utsuvaara and was captivated by the vast northern sky, sweeping fell landscape and the silence of Lapland. Determined to share this beauty, he built the first four glass igloos in 2008, beginning a family-run resort dedicated to creating Lapland’s most unforgettable igloo experience.
Today, the resort has grown into a boutique destination with 27 glass igloos and the exclusive Northern Lights House -villa, offering modern comfort in harmony with nature. Guests can fall asleep under the Arctic sky, wake to panoramic fell views, or relax in a private sauna and outdoor jacuzzi. Complementing the igloos is Restaurant Utsu, one of Levi’s most acclaimed dining spots, where seasonal menus celebrate the purity of Lapland’s ingredients and the artistry of fine gastronomy.
